sacrosanctities   Innocence is a flower which withers when touched but blooms not again, though watered with tears. BACKGROUNDMarie Sophie de Plantier is a young girl in a long line of prominent witches. She was born to Sylvia de Plantier outside of Paris, France. She has never known her father, and has had little contact with any of her family before the sudden tragic death of her mother. She doesn’t know a lot of the details, though her mother’s disapproval of Sylvie is made quite apparent. Because of her pregnancy, she’s gained a sort of an unkind reputation that unwed mothers seem to carry. For Sylvie that even carries on posthumously. Marie is uprooted from her life to live with her grandmother in an old estate in Louisiana, though that does not last long. Here she does learn about her lineage, her mother never having told her of her families abilities. Soon after though Marie finds herself at a boarding school for girls. While on the outside it seems like an ordinary school, Marie quickly learns she isn’t just there for reading and writing. Latin isn’t just taught as a language. There’s only a few girls who seem to be chosen for this other extra curricular. PERSONALITYMarie is a generally precocious, young girl, just trying to survive now. She has more questions and is slower to trust than probably most her age. She’s been shrouded in this mystery of her mother’s death and an entire life that has been hid from her. Having a million questions about it all probably has made her more focused though. The tragedy and loss of her mother is deeply felt. She isn’t as bubbly as she once was. It’s starting to seep into part of her and leaving its mark. She can be a loner and more subdued. She would even admit that it’s like something is weighing heavy on her or a dark cloud that follows her. ABILITIESBaby witch. Her abilities are mostly knowledge based. She can do some incantations and make some things happen, but she needs a lot of work and channeling in order to do much of anything with an impact.
